Find out if Jev can cut your AI bill - on your own data
Many AI products pay a full language model to do one small job: sort a ticket, route a request, score a lead. TypeSafe’s Jev is built for exactly those decisions. The Jev Switch Check tests your real examples and tells you, with numbers, what you would save, what accuracy you keep, and where switching is unsafe.
Fixed price, about 2 weeks: quoted up front once we know how many AI calls you want tested. BrightBit is independent of TypeSafe AI.

What the Switch Check gives you
Not a slide deck. A measured answer for your product, and the code to act on it.
Cost saved, in pounds
Your monthly spend on each decision call today, against the same calls on Jev at your real volumes. TypeSafe's own figures are best-case - we measure yours.
Accuracy you keep
Every example is run through your current model, Jev and an open-weight backup, then compared against the right answer. You see where Jev matches, beats or falls short.
Confidence tuned to your data
Jev returns a confidence with every answer. We set the thresholds on your examples: act automatically when it's sure, fall back or ask a human when it isn't.
Where it's unsafe
A plain list of the calls that should not move - because of accuracy, data protection or the lack of an uptime guarantee - and what to use instead.
Drop-in code
The Jev call, the confidence gate and the fallback, ready for your team to merge. No lock-in: it's your code.
A report you can forward
Short enough for a finance director, detailed enough for your engineers. Includes the data-protection points your DPO will ask about.
Send us a sample, get a savings estimate
Free. Tell us what one of your AI calls decides. We reply within one working day with how to send an anonymised sample - around 100 real examples - then estimate your monthly cost today vs with Jev.
How the Switch Check works
Four steps, about two weeks, fixed price.
- 1
Find the decision calls
We go through your product and list the AI calls that only sort, route or score things - the ones where you pay for text you then throw away.
- 2
Re-run your real examples
500-2,000 of your past examples (anonymised) go through your current model, Jev and an open-weight backup. Same inputs, same right answers.
- 3
Tune the confidence
We pick the confidence thresholds on your own data, so Jev only acts alone where it has earned it and everything else falls back safely.
- 4
Hand over report and code
Cost saved, accuracy kept, the calls that must not switch, and the drop-in code. We walk your team through it in one call.
A general LLM call vs Jev, for a decision
Jev figures are TypeSafe's published early-access numbers (September 2026). The Switch Check replaces them with yours.
| General LLM call | Jev | |
|---|---|---|
| What comes back | Text you have to parse | A typed answer: option, score or yes/no |
| Confidence | Not built in | Probability and confidence with every answer |
| Speed | Varies by model | 70-500 ms (TypeSafe's figure) |
| Price | Per input and output token | $0.042 per million input tokens, output free |
| Writes text | Yes | No |
| Hosting | Many options, incl. UK and EU | United States |
| Uptime guarantee | Depends on provider | None in current terms |
When we’ll tell you not to switch
TypeSafe publishes Jev’s known weak spots. If your decision leans on any of these, it stays on a language model or plain code:
- Maths, counting or anything code can compute exactly
- Comparing dates or working out time between them
- Decisions that need several reasoning steps
- Writing text - Jev is not built to generate it
- Inputs that may contain hostile or injected instructions
- Long inputs full of detail that has nothing to do with the question
Decisions that are usually worth testing
If your product makes one of these calls thousands of times a month, it is a Switch Check candidate.
